Hi! My name is Cera and I am the creator of The Working Unicorn!
The Beginning
I started The Working Unicorn in 2020 in the middle of COVID-19, but it was a dream long before then. I have always wanted to find a way to mix my love of the construction industry and art. It all began with some doodles of unicorns in different sets of PPE to keep my mind awake during a several hour meeting. I quickly became obsessed and shared the funny drawings with my friends, who loved them and started joking about t-shirts. I realized that this was the opportunity I was looking for, and jumped at the chance.
Why Unicorns?
To me, unicorns are a universal symbol for everyone under the sun. They can represent every shape, size, gender, sexuality, race, belief, and ability. As an LGBTQ+, disabled woman in the construction industry, this kind of representation is longed for. I work on projects all across North America, and on most of them, I am the only woman. I want to encourage and show everyone, that no matter who you are, you are welcomed into this industry, and greatly needed! We are always looking for new people to join the team, and The Working Unicorn Family!
